BRAVO to #FountainHills and we applaude the Mayor's Youth Council for this progressive step. Here is a link to the article in the paper about it: interfaithmovement.com/news/fountain-hills-becomes-a-golden-rule-town/ #AzGoldenRule #arizona,The Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) is made up of proactive teens here in Town that care about making a difference. Through MYC these teens learn how our Town operates, leadership skills, and how they can make a difference for the good. Each year MYC takes on projects to try and solve a problem or need that they see in the Town. This year, they have taken on two! They have worked to bring about the Golden Rule Proclamation that was read at the Town Council on April 6, and they are also doing a Mental Health Awareness campaign and online webinar that will be hosted online on April 28th at 6:00 p.m. The Golden Rule Proclamation was done at the Mayor’s direction. MYC worked closely with Rev Larry Fultz from the Arizona Inter-Faith Movement in order to accomplish the project. By becoming a Golden Rule Town, leadership has committed to use the Golden Rule as a guide in all dealings with the citizens and asked that all in Fountain Hills strive to treat each other how they would want to be treated. The four pillars of Golden Rule behavior are found in these words: Respect, Kindness, Civility, and Empathy. It goes without saying that our Town will continue to be a great place to live if we engage as many people as possible in Golden Rule behavior. With this proclamation, Fountain Hills joins eight other cities who have made the same commitment. (Flagstaff, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Surprise, Apache Junction, and Tempe)(Pictured L-R: Ben Alker, Anna Williams, Larry Fultz, Jacelle Bautista, and Recreation Program Coordinator Kade Nelson) ...
