On Tuesday Evening, December 12, 2021, I had the marvelous privilege of welcoming the City of Tempe Arizona into the growing number of Golden Rule Cities in the State of Arizona. As I told them that evening being a Golden Rule City means you are a Compassionate City. You care for your citizens using the four words of Kindness, Empathy, Respect, and Civility in all your duties and interactions with your constituency.
December 1, 2021 was a watershed moment for the City of Tempe by virtue of the fact that it became official what they have been doing for a long time; treating their city members with the dignity and respect they deserve regardless of ethnicity, culture, religion or the language they speak.
We congratulate the City and look forward to a long relationship as we journey together in making the Golden Rule a way of life for all the citizens of our great State.
