Helen Hunter

Rev. Dr. Helen Hunter, 

·        Faith Representative on the AZIFM Council

·        African Methodist Episcopal (AME)

Dr. Hunter’s extensive community involvement includes years of housing development and social justice advocacy. 

She oversees a street and temporary/transitional housing ministry. She has developed affordable housing and home ownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income families and continues to advocate for shelter-focused initiatives in Arizona.

Dr. Hunter is also President Emeritus of the East Valley Arizona NAACP and  continues to serve on the Legal Redress Committee.

In collaboration with Arizonans Concerned About Smoking (ACAS) and the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), Dr. Hunter has been involved in smoking prevention advocacy among Native American, African American, and HBCU communities. 

She strives to live by loving God and loving her neighbor.
