A few words about why our Golden Rule Honorees are being celebrated:

Marie Osmond is well known as an iconic performer ~ singer, dancer, actor, television host, author and public speaker.” Rev. Larry Fultz, Arizona InterFaith Movement’s Executive Director said, “We are thrilled to shine a light on her philanthropic work::
• She was recently awarded the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service by a 4-star General
• She co-founded. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals where she helps raise funds for children’s hospitals, medical research as well as raise community awareness of children’s health issues.
• She has acted on her keen interest of helping Interfaith enterprises around the globe bring awareness to the great need of respect for one another.
AZIFM is honored to recognize Marie Osmond for being a global interfaith champion and will present her with the Paul Eppinger Award, which is named after Rev. Dr. Paul Eppinger, Executive Director Emeritus AZIFM.” Dr. Eppinger is esteemed for his Golden Rule vision of an interfaith world that sees no walls or boundaries, instead embraces a sincere love for people of different religions and cultures around the world.

Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey is internationally recognized as the Mother of Holistic Medicine. She has tirelessly pioneered work in holistic medicine, natural birthing, and the physician-patient partnership. Among Dr. Gladys’ innovations for natural birthing was the Baby Buggy Program founded in 1978, featuring a fully-equipped paramedical and emergency transport vehicle for home deliveries. Her efforts worldwide continue to receive international acclaim.

Michael Bankston is a former pro football Defensive End star who played for the Arizona Cardinals and finished his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. Today Michael Bankston works at Canyon State Academy, a school in Queen Creek with a mission to help at-risk children develop into productive adults. He is a sought after speaker and is involved in numerous community events and activities.

Mission of Mercy, after 20 years of service in Arizona, is the only completely FREE mobile medical clinic in Arizona that “brings the doctor to the people”, providing primary health care to the uninsured and underinsured. Their two 40-foot mobile medical units carry their pharmacy and have built-in private exam rooms. All clinics are located in neighborhoods with the highest poverty and uninsured rates and are fully bilingual.

Trevor Gentry – received a Public Safety Life-saving Award from the Arizona Department of Public Safety for holding on to a man trying to take his own life, — exhibiting exceptional courage and extraordinary decisiveness, while ignoring his own safety, — thereby saving the man’s life.
