On April 25, 2026, we organized, sponsored, and supported 10 service projects, providing youth with meaningful opportunities to serve within their neighborhoods and communities. It was inspiring to see what our youth are capable of and their willingness to serve and bless individuals they had never met, simply because they wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.
- We organized 8 neighborhood service projects focused on supporting elderly individuals, widows, and those with physical limitations. Each project involved youth groups of approximately 10–20 volunteers who served by clearing weeds and trash, picking fruit, trimming trees, and even building a wheelchair ramp.
- We worked together to support their efforts in distributing to-go bags to individuals experiencing homelessness. We also sponsored this project on the JustServe website, encouraging members of our community to write uplifting messages on snack bags and water bottles. We organized a particular youth group who was interested in participating in this project.

- One of our favorite experiences was the opportunity to serve alongside Albert and four young men with Langar on Wheels. What an amazing day it was to see first hand the generosity of Suminder Singh Sodhi Ji and his family as they faithfully serve lunch to individuals experiencing homelessness every Saturday, come rain or shine.

Service is part of our AZIFM Mission Statement. Thanks to Judy Renfro, AZIFM VP who heads up Service. Check back for upcoming service projects and stories from past projects.

AZIFM partnered with Saint Vincent de Paul, contributing to their mission by placing Sweet Dream cards with uplifting messages on the pillows of residents seeking shelter. This small gesture brought comfort and hope to many individuals during challenging times.
The year 2024 was indeed a “Sweet Dream” experience for the Arizona Interfaith Movement (AZIFM). Their efforts to spread kindness and compassion through the Sweet Dream cards initiative made a significant impact on the community.
In December, AZIFM set up Giving Tables next to the Light the World Giving Machines. This initiative provided the community with an opportunity to create Sweet Dream cards filled with loving and encouraging messages. It was heartwarming to see parents having meaningful conversations with their children about the importance of these cards and the positive impact they would have on those seeking shelter.
Additionally, AZIFM participated in the Walk 4 Unity in Chandler, commemorating U.N. Human Rights Day. The theme for this year’s event was Freedom, Equity, and Justice for all. AZIFM set up a service table, inviting attendees to create Sweet Dream cards, further spreading the message of unity and compassion.
In November, AZIFM also set up a service table at the Guru Nanak Dwara during the Experience Interfaith event. This provided attendees with an opportunity to serve the community by creating Sweet Dream cards.
The initiative gained widespread support, with schools, families, faith groups, and community members participating through JustServe.org. Together, they created an impressive 3,000 Sweet Dream cards, each one a testament to the power of kindness and community spirit.
Overall, AZIFM’s Sweet Dream cards initiative in 2024 was a beautiful example of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of those in need.
