Golden Rule Banquet April 7, 2022

The 15th Annual Golden Rule Awards Banquet was rescheduled to April 7, 2022, due to health concerns. Please save the date! All tickets purchased will be accepted for this new date. A virtual alternative is under consideration as we monitor safety levels. It would be at the same cost as the in-person event. Honorees

We are elated to celebrate the following honorees:

Marie Osmond – Besides being an iconic performer, speaker, author, and philanthropist with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, she has exemplified the Golden Rule through concerts and events in Idaho and Hawaii to promote interfaith understanding. AZIFM is honored to recognize Marie Osmond for being a global interfaith champion and will present her with the Paul Eppinger Award, which is named after Rev. Dr. Paul Eppinger, Executive Director Emeritus AZIFM.” Dr. Eppinger is esteemed for his Golden Rule vision of an interfaith world that sees no walls or boundaries, instead embraces a sincere love for people of different religions and cultures around the world. 

Dr. Gladys Taylor McGarey, – An Arizona Hall of Fame recipient, an internationally-recognized Mother of Holistic Medicine who helped rural Afghanistan mothers have safer birthing practices (at age 85), greatly improving their mortality statistics. Her Golden Rule spirit embraces the whole person within her healthcare practice and she began a Task Force of medical providers that emphasizes prevention to better care for people.

Michael Bankston – A former pro football Defensive End Arizona Cardinals who now uses his football skills and his Golden Rule character to impact at-risk children in many capacities and with multiple organizations. He donates his time to many charity events, golf tournaments, cancer awareness programs and children’s hospitals, and mentors underprivileged boys and those with special-education needs; he is a liaison between students, their families and the courts.

Mission of Mercy  – Whose Golden Rule mission is, “To restore dignity, ‘Healing through Love’ by providing free healthcare.” to the working poor and uninsured, coordinated under the umbrella of their Access to Care Program.  Their volunteer doctors, nurses and interpreters provided over 15,000 of Pro-bono hours provided by last year and their “Compassionate Partners” program collaborates with a network of local health care providers and service organizations who offer their patients services and prescription medication free of charge.

Trevor Gentry – An educated young man with a Golden heart who served hundreds of families in need on a church mission trip and received a Public Safety Life-saving Award from the Arizona Department of Public Safety for his care, swift action and courage of holding on to a man trying to take his own life.

Tickets: If you purchased tickets for the 2020 or 2021 postponed event, we will honor them. 

Pricing: $95 per person, $740 table of 8, $60 per student

Beginning March 28th, tables will be unavailable and individual seats will rise to $120 per person

VIP Meet and Greet the Honorees!  On a very limited basis, we still have a few spots available for $60 each, along with a purchased Banquet ticket.  It will be held from 5:15 – 5:45 pm in a reception room by the Banquet Hall.

  • Salad: Citrus Salad with Romaine and Radicchio, Tomatoes and Mandarin Oranges
  • Entrée: Chicken Pesto with Ricotta, Garlic and Spinach in Garlic Cream Sauce
    • Vegetarian Option: Vegetarian Wellington
    • Jain / Hare Krishna / Hindu Option: Vegetable Uthappam, Navaratan Kurma (no nuts)
  • Vegetable: Herb Roasted Red Skin Potatoes, Medley of Fresh Broccoli, Carrots and Cauliflower
    • Jain / Hare Krishna / Hindu Option: Dal Curry, Gobi Manchurian, Coconut Chutney (no root vegetables)
  • Bread: Rolls & Butter (gluten free upon request)
    • Jain / Hare Krishna / Hindu Option: Parathas
  • Dessert: Raspberry Cheesecake or Mini Chocolate Bundt Cake with Brandy Whipped Cream and Raspberry Sauce
